Communication
We investigate communication modalities beyond conventional interfaces, asking what information actually needs to be conveyed between robot and human teammates. The lab explores minimal, context-sensitive communication strategies that stay human-aware without overloading the interaction.

Minimal, Context-Sensitive Robot Communication
What a robot actually needs to communicate to a human teammate, and how to say it without overloading the interaction.
Not every robot action needs to be explained, and not every explanation needs words. This project investigates communication modalities beyond conventional dialogue interfaces, asking what information is actually necessary for a human teammate to stay coordinated with a robot, and developing minimal, context-sensitive communication strategies, including visual and spatial cues, that stay informative without becoming a distraction.
